About Me

After graduating from Bath University with a BSc hons in Maths and Computing, I worked for about 16 years in various aspects of IT (programer, analyst, consultant) as both an employee and subcontractor.

Based mainly in the Electronics and Telecommunications industries I have worked all over the UK from Cornwall to Scotland with even a short time in Australia. The list of companies that I have worked for include: IBM, Ericsson, Honeywell, Limitorque, Fitzgerald Lighting, AB Electronics amongst others.

During a career break while my children were small, I undertook various voluntary design projects for printed publications, invites, advertising etc for local organisations such as church and school.

I then upgraded my skills by taking a course in Dreamweaver Web Design and Flash Animation and gained a diploma in Web Design from the ACITP, the Association of Certified IT Professionals.

In addition to my private work, I have been working part-time with Core Web Design since January 2008, gaining invaluable experience in developing and maintaining a wide variety of websites for large and small organisations. This has included customising Wordpress installations and working on bilingual sites (Welsh/English). Some examples of Core websites worked on are here.
